Assessment may take place throughout the programme and can include a range of methods, depending on the apprenticeship standard. These may include projects, professional discussions, presentations, observations and other assessment activities.

We will work closely with our learners and employers throughout the programme to ensure apprentices are supported and prepared to successfully achieve their apprenticeship.

Learners will develop the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to work effectively within the classroom, supporting pupil development and collaborating with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences.

The programme covers key areas including promoting positive behaviour, supporting learner wellbeing, and understanding safeguarding responsibilities. Learners will gain the confidence to create supportive learning environments, respond to individual learner needs, and contribute positively to pupil progress, achievement, and wellbeing.

The programme creates clear progression opportunities, enabling Teaching Assistants to advance into senior support positions, develop specialist expertise in areas such as SEND and inclusion, or pursue a pathway towards becoming a qualified teacher.

    Unlock the benefits

    Enhance classroom support

A Teaching Assistant apprentice can enhance classroom effectiveness by supporting teaching and learning, reinforcing key concepts with pupils, and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment. Their support allows teachers to focus on delivering high-quality instruction while ensuring pupils receive the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

Develop skills to suit your setting

Shape your apprentice’s development around the specific needs of your school, enabling them to gain the practical knowledge and skills required to support teaching, enhance pupil outcomes, and make a positive contribution to your wider school community.

    Support pupil progress and wellbeing

By supporting individual learners and working closely with teaching staff, an apprentice can help create an environment where pupils feel confident, included, and motivated to succeed. This additional support enhances engagement, promotes wellbeing, and contributes to improved outcomes across the school.
