‘At Access Training our customers (learners and employers) are really important to us, so we listen to their views and aim to exceed their expectations wherever possible’ – Malcolm Armstrong (Managing Director)

We gather and analyse the views of our customers through taking part in national surveys or using our own ‘internally designed’ questionnaires to find out what people think, what works well and what can be improved.  Here are some of this year’s findings:

119 employers responded to the government’s 2015 national survey to evaluate the quality of our provision.  Our overall employer satisfaction score of 9.40 compares favourably to almost all of our regional competitors, while we were particularly pleased that employers gave a score of 9.60 out of 10 for the question ‘how likely would you be to recommend this training provider to another employer seeking similar training’.

78 employers completed one of our own questionnaires during 2015 (usually completed at the end of an apprentice’s training programme).  Each of the 16 questions scored higher than our 2014 survey (all more than 9.00 out of 10).  The highest scores were for ‘helping staff gain qualifications’ (9.61), ‘professionalism of training staff’ (9.55) and ‘supporting staff through their training programme’ (9.52).  We saw significant increases in scores for ‘providing information on our services and what to expect from us’, ‘providing a training solution to a business need’, ‘communicating effectively’ and ‘reviewing progress’.

Employers were also asked to comment on what they particularly like about Access and what they would like Access to improve.

 What employers would like us to improve:

  • Offering some short, technical courses
  • More information about off the job training
