We are advertising the following vacancies on behalf of employers in the North East.

We are also interested in receiving applications for apprenticeship opportunities in general and we will consider these against current vacancies and those which may arise in the future (please enter General where the application form asks for a vacancy number).

Selection process

If your application meets the required standard we will invite you for an initial interview at our Training Centre on the Team Valley in Gateshead.

CVs for those applicants successful at the initial interview are sent to employers who may invite you for an interview at their premises which in turn may lead to an offer of employment.

Access will then work with you and your employer to achieve your apprenticeship qualification.

Job Title: Apprentice Property Management Administrator
Location: 
Newcastle
Employer: Abode Letting Agency Ltd
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week. 9am to 5.30pm Mon-Fri 
Salary: £155 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen at a growing company for an Apprentice Property Management Administrator at Abode Letting Agency Ltd based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role will be very varied and will include the following duties;

  • Managing all aspects of move in – sending tenant introduction emails, ordering and chasing references, creating and sending contracts
  • Answering all telephone queries
  • Booking move in appointments and booking inspections
  • Administrative duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning documents
  • Putting together tenant packs for both managed and let only
  • Organise all renewals of CP12’ and EPC’s when due
  • Ensuring property keys are available as and when required and complete paperwork when keys have been cut
  • Managing own diary

These duties are not exhaustive and other duties may be required from time to time. It is also anticipated that the duties will progress over time.

Applicants should have good IT skills and be able to use a range of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word.

Job Title: Apprentice Administration Assistant

Salary: £166.50 per week

  • Greet visitors at reception and direct them to the correct meeting room
  • Ensure all meeting rooms are set up for all internal and external meetings, including refreshments and stationary
  • Ensure meeting rooms are clean and tidy at all times
  • Assist with all general administration across the company including scanning, printing, copying and filing
  • Manage archiving
  • Cover reception during holidays, sickness and lunch breaks

An exciting opportunity has arisen at a growing company for an apprentice Accounts Administrative Assistant based at Park-Electrical Distributors on the Team Valley. The role will be very varied and will include the following duties;

  • Answering telephone calls and taking messages from other branches within the business.
  • Dealing with customer account queries, as the role progresses.
  • Dealing with internal post
  • Administrative duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning documents
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Sending and responding to emails
  • Use of the office equipment – photocopier, scanner etc.
  • Processing purchase invoices

These duties are not exhaustive and other duties may be required from time to time. It is also anticipated that the duties will progress over time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Factory Operator, based on Pennywell Industrial Estate, Sunderland.

The successful candidate will benefit from gaining skills and experience in a manufacturing environment whilst working towards a qualification.  Duties to include:

  • Packing products ready for dispatch
  • Trimming and laminating plastic baths
  • Lifting of baths
  • Use of computerised systems to manager orders
  • Using drilling and polishing machinery
  • A range of general housekeeping tasks to ensure that the workplace is kept tidy and safe

Probationary period applies / full training will be given.

Job Title: Apprentice Finance Assistant

Hours of Work: 
Monday- Friday 9.00am-5.00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £170 per week

An exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Finance Assistant at All Good, based on Team Valley, has become available. This is a very varied role with opportunities to progress through the AAT levels – for the right candidate.

Duties will include:

  • Use of computerised accountancy software – Sage 50
  • Purchase ledger & matching up supplier invoices
  • Preparation for payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Month end statements
  • Payroll duties – checking time sheets, data input etc.
  • Report preparation
  • Eventually progressing onto VAT returns
  • Use of email / telephone, answering supplier queries

Applicants should have knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes to include Excel, Word & Outlook along with good keyboard skills. Applicants should also be comfortable working with figures and have the ability to check their own work.

6 month probationary period applies.

Driving licence desirable.

  • Answering the telephone, transferring calls and taking messages
  • Data Entry
  • Administrative duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning documents
  • Creating new files
  • Sending and responding to emails
  • Use of the office equipment – photocopier, scanner etc.

The role is within a small team so applicants will need to have a ‘can do’ attitude and be willing to contribute, good attention to detail and able to question things if they don’t seem right.  The team are always learning new skills and have new projects on the go so it will be a good grounding in business.
